Experimental Modal Testing on the Rotor Armature of an Exciter in Shazand Power Plant: A Case Study
1Department of Mechanical Engineering. Arak University of Technology
This paper reports on the results of a series of modal tests performed on an exciter armature in Shazand thermal power plant. Following a shift observed in the rotor’s first critical speed dur-ing normal operation, the rotor was suspected to have cracks or other types of damages. The aim of the conducted modal tests is to monitor the health status for the exciter shaft by using its dynamic properties.
