Sound transmission loss maximization in a multi-chamber reactive exhaust system

The effect of number of baffles and chambers on the maximization of the sound transmission loss (STL) in an exhaust system is studied. The STL curves are obtained by the experimental and the transfer matrix method (TMM). Considering the performance criteria obtained by the theoretical analysis, the models are designed, manufactured and tested. Finding of which baffle number is the best for the STL maximization over a specific frequency range is studied as well.
