چکیده
Experimental modal analysis is a non-invasive method which can be an alternative for conventional measurement techniques in various fields such as biomechanics. In this paper, experimental modal test is conducted to obtain frequency response function of ovine spine motion segment points and determine the specimen modal properties. Subsequently, a 3D finite element model of the sample is simulated in ABAQUS software to derive modal properties and frequency response function of the segment. Then, in order to estimate elastic properties of the intervertebral disc and damping ratio of each mode, model updating is employed via Isight optimization software using experimental and numerical modal data. The results show a good agreement between experimental and updated model outcomes.
